“Yahoo!!!” It’s the walk I screeched. The bus arrived, we knew it was time to go. We all lined up in our class lines. We went to Te AhuAhu. When we got there Mrs Whitelaw was waiting against the gate. When we walked through the cattle yards all you could smell was poo. All you could see was cows. We started walking, we were walking in lines like soldiers ,except for me I was cutting across the Maunga. When we got to the top we were so tired we stopped instantly.
When we got to the top we sat and listened to a man, his name was Hone. He started telling us a story it was about all the Maunga around Taiamai. He told us that lake omapere is the ocean in the world. Hone told us that he moved Hone Heke’s bones to Putahi and he dropped it in a hole it was deeper than 200 metres because he took his 200 metre rope. After the story we had lunch.
I felt stupid for running around the mountain instead of running up the mountain. Finally we could leave, I ran down the mountain like a cheetah chasing his prey And then we hopped on the bus back to school.
